Our Mission Statement: Being led of God, we are building a stronger New Testament fellowship of Spirit-filled believers with an ongoing ministry of evangelism, discipleship, missions and worship that will reach eastern Hillsborough County and beyond.
First Baptist Church, Dover is a church on a mission. To better accomplish our mission we have chosen to be part of the Southern Baptist Convention, the Florida Baptist Convention and Shiloh Baptist Association. These relationships allow us to be joined with others in the Body of Christ in reaching our county, state, nation and world with the good news of Jesus Christ.

Becoming an active member of a church family is essential for your spiritual development and Christian growth. You also bring a unique matrix of personality and spiritual giftedness to a church body. There is not another quite like you in all creation. So, after consultation with one of our pastoral staff you may be presented for membership in one of the following ways:
*by profession of your faith in Christ and baptism by immersion
*by transfer of your church membership from another Baptist church
*if coming from another denomination, by statement of your prior conversion to Christ, having been baptized by immersion.
The first thing we learned in school was our ABC's. They were foundational to all that came afterwards. Your spiritual ABC's are essential in knowing God. In fact your relationship with Him is keyed to knowing the spiritual ABC's.
A - Admit that you are a
sinner.
"...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God..."

B - Believe that Jesus Christ
is God's Son.
"...if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in
your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
Romans 10:9
C - Commit your life to Christ
Jesus says, "If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself
and take up his cross daily, and follow Me." Luke 9:23
One thing that facilitates Christian growth is finding a ministry you enjoy and giving your best. We want to help you find that ministry. At First Baptist, Dover we have over twenty ministry teams. Not everyone can teach a Bible Study class or even sing. But maybe you can give encouragement to someone who is homebound, serve others as an usher or greeter or even offer your skills for home repair. See any one of our pastoral staff for more information.
Children are a gift from God. God loves children and so do we. In fact, a childlike faith is all it takes to come into a relationship with God. During our Sunday worship time the children have an opportunity to attend an activity designed just for them - Children's Church, for Kindergarten through grade three. For preschoolers we have an extended session - a time of care and Bible stories on their level of understanding.
Our children's Sunday School leaders are often planning for events throughout the year. And on Wednesday evening the children have an opportunity to learn about missionaries serving around the world as well as experiencing a choir designed for them. TeamKID is a summer ministry for children they just don't want to miss.
Music touches the heart by reaching the soul. It's one of the primary ways we have of expressing our praise to God. If you have an interest in expressing musical praise to God in ways other than singing in corporate worship, you have an invitation to join our music ministry.
Along with leading in worship each week, our Worship Choir presents various musicals throughout the year (Christmas, Easter, Patriotic, etc.) You might be interested in joining one of the Praise Teams or Praise Bands.
We also have a graded choir ministry for children, preschool through grade six. They practice weekly and present an annual musical, periodic specials and handbells.
Consider involving yourself in these opportunities for a ministry of worship to God and encouragement to others as you use the talents He has given.

What is New Life Hispanic Ministry?
New Life Hispanic Ministry is the ideal bilingual place for those who are
tired of dead religions and are seeking a church that is alive - where the
Word of God will challenge them to change their lives.
Our purpose is to serve, worship, and give glory to our Lord Jesus Christ.
We offer you and your family Biblical studies with a conservative doctrinal point of view. Our goal is that you have a personal relationship with God, your family and the community.

The energy is high and intense. The community created by the young people is real and with a purpose. The purpose is a safe place where every teen is wanted and accepted. In addition to weekly Bible studies, we also enjoy fun times at summer camp, Disciple Now weekends, fellowship through Sunday School departments and mission trips.
Student Worship Services
Every Wednesday night is a tailored, tropical Bible study. This is high
impact and high energy...kind of a "no boundaries, let's be real"
time.
Drama Teams
This is an excellent chance for young people to utilize their creative energy
to promote a healthy change in their lives.
Discipleship Classes
Many students lack an understanding of the basic truths of Christianity.
Without a solid understanding of the truth, students can easily be misled.
Vital Truth is a plan to ground students in Biblical truth.
Youth Trips
Our standard youth trips include one DiscipleNow Weekend and a youth camp
in the summer.
Youth Worship Teams Choir & Student
Praise Band
The purpose of the worship team is to lead the youth group in worship each
Wednesday night and during the other special gatherings.
Dover Singles Ministry
Sunday School is a place where you and others your age meet for a time of
Bible study and encouragement. We also offer retreats, Thrusday night Bible
studies and fellowships to help our singles find friends and satisfaction
in Christian life.

Recreation
For those who are athletically inclinde we have a softball team and bowling
teams. The Christian Life Center or CLC has some periodic supervised events
as well.
Senior Adults
Most Senior Adults are still young at heart. That's the fellowship ministry
of our Senior Adults - Young at Heart.
Bible Study
Bible Study is essential for our spiritual well being. Bible study classes
are offered according to age / marital status on Sunday mornings. Periodic
Bible study subjects are offered throughout the year at other time slots.
